Play

Posted in Uncategorized by ajrod12 on February 18, 2008

When I was a kid, I would always play with my Nintendo.  For hours my brother and I would play Super Mario Brothers.  Since there was not a way to save the game we would always try to get it done in one day.  We never actually beat the entire game, but we always had fun trying to. Sometimes my dad would come and play along with us, but for the most part it was just me and my brother.

Work

Posted in Uncategorized by ajrod12 on February 18, 2008

As the alarm went off this morning at 5:00 AM all I wanted was to fall back asleep.  But that was not going to happen.  I had to get up and take a shower because I needed to work at 6:00 am.  Yea not very fun, I know.  Well I got to work at about 5:51 and as soon as I walked in I realized that I had way too much work to do on a Sunday morning.  I spent the first 4 hours of work setting function rooms non-stop.  Work today was not at all fun.

Pencil

I do not usually use pencils.  I do not like the way they feel in my hand when writing.  Whenever someone uses one it always makes a scratching sound on the paper which drives me crazy.  The only time I use a pencil is at work… Me and my friends that I work with will usually take turns throwing them at the ceiling to get them stuck.  I do not always win (i must not have the proper technique) but it is always a fun way to pass time while at work.

Chair

I hate chairs.(let me elaborate) I work at the Holiday Inn in of Taunton as a banquet houseman.  Which means I set all of the function rooms for parties and business meetings of all kinds.  Well when I get the awesome task of setting up a function for 500 people, I get to put down everysingle chair in the appropriate place.  We stack the 10 chairs high and use a chair cart to move them from room to room.  Well I guess I do not hate the chairs but rather the stacking and unstacking of the chairs I do when setting up for the party and then right after.

Garden

Growing up I always watched and helped my grandparent’s in their garden. It was pretty large with a variety of vegetables in it. The vegetable I remember watching my grandmother take care of the most was the kale. She would always be trimming it and looking it over thoroughly to make sure there were wasn’t and bugs eating away at it. The kale that my grandparents grew and used in their kale soup was always better than the store bought kind. It just had a much fresher taste than the store bought stuff and I was always proud to say that I help grow it.

Dog

My favorite dog I ever had was one named Brandie.  She was a Boxer and was all brown with some white spots also called a “Fawn”.  She was always sleeping and very relaxed.  She never liked to play with toys, but loved to play with me as I grew up.  As she got older she got lazier and lazier, but she was always fun to wrestle with.  She was always very protective of my home and barked whenever she heard someone come to the door or walk past our house.  She was my favorite dog, and I will always miss her.

My favorite tattoo

Posted in Uncategorized by ajrod12 on February 3, 2008

Hey dad, why do you have a tattoo of tweedy bird on your arm? He also has many others ranging from eye balls to skulls to wizards and tigers and eagles, but the one of Tweedy Bird always caught my attention. He answered, “Well AJ that is the very first tattoo I ever got and it means a lot to me.” But you did not answer my question dad. He laughed and explained that he first got it a few days after I was born. That is my favorite Tattoo.

Potatoes

Posted in Uncategorized by ajrod12 on February 3, 2008

As the brown deformed potato sits on the counter and waits for my mom to peel and cut it, it starts to roll.  After a few moments of rocking back and forth it finally starts a fast paced roll right off the counter and onto the floor.  the potato does not stop there, it proceeds to roll across the kitchen floor and catch my dog’s attention.  My dog Junior being nosy as always decides to investigate.   Instead of playing with the little potato, he  instead devours  it in one massive gulp.
